West Nusa Tenggara || Gardatipikornews.com -- June 7, 2025. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) NTB has issued a warning for extreme weather. It is stated that the potential for high-intensity rain will continue until the evening in the Mataram, West Lombok, and surrounding areas. The public is urged to remain vigilant against the possibility of subsequent floods, landslides, and power outages. Currently, the flood situation in the City of Mataram and its surroundings is entering a critical phase. The impact not only disrupts residents' activities but also has the potential to cause significant damage to infrastructure and the local economy. The government is urged to provide a prompt response through data collection, evacuation, and logistic assistance before the situation escalates into a large-scale disaster.
18 coastal areas are threatened by tidal flooding until June 16. The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has recorded at least 18 coastal areas in NTB that could be affected. The vulnerable areas include: Ampenan, Sekarbela, Gerung, Lembar, Pemenang, Jerowaru, Labuhan Lombok, Kabupaten Sumbawa, Labuhan Badas, Palibelo, Woha, Bolo, Langgudu, Soromandi, Sape, Rasanae Barat, Hu’u, and Asakota. CITIZENS IN PANIC, self-evacuations are being carried out by some residents. Combined officers from BPBD, TNI, and other volunteers were seen at the locations carrying rubber boats and other emergency logistics. In some locations, the asphalt on the roads has started to peel off, and many vehicles have been left behind by their owners, left to drift away. Some members of the public can be seen panicking and moving their valuables to higher ground. The situation in several low-lying houses has been inundated by large floods.

The Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Lalu Muhamad Iqbal went down to survey the flood points that occurred in several places (Kekalek-Mataram). "From what we heard from the residents, this is indeed the largest and most severe. The current in the Kekalek area is quite strong, making the movement of boats and rescue teams a bit slow as they have to navigate through narrow alleys," he explained. The assistance needed by residents at this time is emergency aid. This includes ready-to-eat food, medicine, blankets, and more. The disaster management agency has also provided a temporary evacuation site for residents of Mataram City, which is at the Hajj Dormitory on Jalan Lingkar Selatan. There, Lalu Iqbal stated, the NTB provincial government has prepared beds, medical teams, and ready-to-eat food. "We offer those in need of evacuation to the Hajj Dormitory. The head of the Ministry of Religion has prepared evacuation locations, the NTB Baznas has set up a public kitchen there, and the health department has also deployed a team there," said the disaster management agency.
